OUAN602 - PPP3:
After Effects Crash Course
Over the summer holidays I took some time to think about what programs I would really benefit from learning more about that could feed into some projects in the upcoming year. I agreed to take on a competition brief with UCAS in the hope I could win some money and improve my animation skills immensely as I believe when it comes to actually animating, my skills are very poor and could do with a massive amount of work!
Knowing this, I decided to do a mini After Effects "crash course" for two weeks to get me up and running with the UCAS project. I gave myself two weeks in which I would try and test as many different skills and animation techniques within the program whilst watching online tutorials. I found my confidence improving a lot as I felt as I was actually able to create something I was proud of for a change! I did feel that there was a long way to go and lots of room for improvement, but that was okay as I was progressing much further on my own than I had ever done before.
Although I never won the competition, I was still happy that I had gained crucial knowledge. I will use these new skills and confidence in my Extended Practice module, as I plan create something After Effects based.
